About That Thing You’re Avoiding…….
It’s funny how the things we avoid are often the things we need the most. Let me explain.
This week, I’ve been building momentum for 2025—drinking more water, eating consistently, working out daily, and doing those uncomfortable but necessary tasks for my business. I was proud of myself for sticking to these new habits.
Then today hit.
I didn’t have it in me. All day, this nagging thought kept popping up: “Just wash your hair.” Crazy, right? I know you’re thinking, “What does that even mean?” But stay with me.
I ignored it. Washing my hair didn’t feel “productive.” I had work to do, momentum to maintain, and goals to crush! But the longer I avoided it, the more frustrated, anxious, and discouraged I felt.
So I thought, “Maybe I just need a nap.”
I took a nap, thinking it would help me reset and feel better. But nope—when I woke up, I still wasn’t ready. The frustration and irritation were still there. Finally, I gave in and decided to wash and deep condition my hair.
And do you know what happened? The exhaustion, frustration, and irritation lifted. It was like washing away the mental clutter. I found myself feeling lighter, more energized, and even motivated to tidy up my house—a task I had no interest in earlier.
The Lesson?
The things we resist most are often the things we need the most, especially when it comes to well-being and personal growth. Whether it’s a small task like washing your hair or something bigger, the thing you’re avoiding might be the key to restoring your balance and helping you move forward.
So, here’s my encouragement: Dooo the thing.
Yes, it feels hard or unimportant in the moment, but once it’s done, you’ll feel better. And who knows? It might even be the reset you need to get back on track.
